At 21, Anthony Kim leaves the collegiate circuit to tackle professional golf as one of the youngest players on the PGA Tour.

If you haven’t heard of Anthony Kim, here’s your chance to get ahead of the name-dropping game.

Last fall at the PGA WEST Stadium Golf Course in La Quinta, Calif., 21-year-old Kim became the youngest player to earn a PGA Tour card for the 2007 season. He claimed one of 40 spots in the final round of the qualifier, tying for 13th place and beating 163 contenders.

Now the three-time all-American and former Oklahoma Sooner faces a much different playing field. Long gone are the collegiate tournaments of yesteryear as Kim joins the likes of other promising 20-somethings such as Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley and Sean O’Hair. But Kim, a player who won his first national event at just 13 years old, isn’t fazed by all the hype. He says the game is the same regardless of age, and the whole thing is really clear-cut: He wants to be the best player the world has ever seen, and he makes it sound so simple.

AAGolf caught up with Kim after the FBR Open in Scottsdale, Ariz., his fourth tour event for the season. Even after missing the cut with a 73-71 in horrendous weather, Kim still oozed unwavering confidence at the start of his freshman season.....
