It's the best time of the year for most American golfers

First, my apologies for the lack of blogs over the past two weeks. There certainly hasn’t been a shortage of news, from the collapse of Sergio Garcia in the final round at the British Open, to last weekend’s return of Michelle Wie, to this weekend’s return of Tiger Woods. For nearly all Americans (sorry, Phoenix) these are some of the best weeks of the golf season.

That's why I decided this would be the perfect time for a little vacation out West, and yes, it was worth it. Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe are two areas that any passionate golfer should experience—and not just for the golf. There’s going to be a couple of new stories from that trip in our next issue, so brace yourself for tales of mountains, wines, and some very high golf scores.

In the meantime, today’s entry will be a short one because it’s an extremely busy time around here in Arlington “Action” Heights. Astute reader of this website (or, anyone who bothered to glance at the featured story on the front page) will note that tomorrow is the first-ever AAGolf outing at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, just outside Chicago. A neighbor to the more-acclaimed Cog Hill, this course is supposed to be a doozy. I’ll let you know what the winning scramble team comes in with, and I might, if I’m not already humbled enough, reveal what my team shot. Needless to say, I do not expect to be in contention for any of the prizes, other than the raffle drawings.

Thanks to all who have been reading, and I can assure you that you can be patient for a little while longer, some new and exciting things are on the way for this website.
